We are proud to announce that four out of our eight destinations from the EU CVB Network have been recognised among Europe’s best at the Meetings Star Awards 2026, presented during the Conventa Show in Ljubljana this February. Porto, Ljubljana, and Salzburg earned top positions in the Leading L Meeting Destinations category, while Rotterdam ranked among the Top 10 XL Meeting Destinations.
The Meetings Star Awards are among the most respected recognitions in the European meetings industry. Based on the Meeting Experience Index, destinations are evaluated through more than 75 qualitative and quantitative criteria, covering everything from infrastructure and service quality to sustainability, accessibility, and the overall event experience. The awards, organised annually by Toleranca Marketing, are an important benchmark for excellence in business tourism.
In the L category (destinations hosting up to 2,000 delegates), Ljubljana secured 2nd place thanks to its walkable layout, strong sustainability vision, and seamless connection between urban culture and green surroundings. Porto followed closely with its 3rd place, celebrated for its unique blend of heritage, creativity, and modern infrastructure that continues to attract international congresses. Salzburg also stood out among the top destinations, combining world-class meeting facilities with its renowned cultural and scenic appeal that inspire participants year-round.
In the XL category, Rotterdam proudly placed among the Top 10 European large meeting destinations, recognised for its outstanding accessibility, contemporary architecture, and innovative approach to hosting major international events.
These achievements highlight the excellence of the EU CVB Network, confirming that our destinations consistently deliver exceptional meeting experiences and continue to raise the bar in the European meetings industry.
